The 2000 Monte Carlo is Chevrolet’s replacement for the Lumina-based coupe that was its best-selling car in the US. Its heritage styling cues take us back to the '70s and '80s models that made the nameplate a hit. It’s a great looking coupe that delivers on its promise of a fun driving experience. The Monte Carlo SS offers a 3.8-liter GM 3800 Series II V6 that puts out 200 horses. It comes with an air conditioning system, AM/FM/cassette stereo, cloth-covered bucket seats, center console, power windows, mirrors and door locks, and remote keyless entry. The SS was also offered with a special Sport Suspension package that included higher-rate springs and four-stage strut valving. The SS also featured unique-looking five-spoke aluminum wheels shod with Pirelli tires, and an aerodynamic rear spoiler.
