The 4.6-liter V8engine produces adequate power for towing, and the automatic transmission delivers an efficient and smooth ride. The Heritage scores well in crash tests. The NHTSA awards it five stars for frontal and rollover crash test performance, while the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety gives it a good rating in its side impact test.
