The 2006 BMW 5 Series is the sixth generation of BMW's most popular sedan. The latest model builds on the success of its predecessors with a host of features and technology. The most significant changes come from the engine department, where BMW's Valvetronic 3.0-liter inline six made its debut. Compared to bprevious year's version, this engine boasts a 30 horsepower boost and improved low-end torque. The xDrive all-wheel drive system has also been added. Inside, the 5 Series has a plethora of standard luxury features. These include heated leather seats with driver's side memory, power tilt-and-telescope leather steering wheel, a 10-speaker stereo with two subwoofers and a CD changer; a three-spoke steering wheel; automatic climate control; a remote trunk release button; Vehicle & Key memory; and 16-inch wheels. A sporty interior, with plenty of slick materials and an abundance of high-quality controls, is one of the reasons the 5 Series remains BMW's most popular car.
