The Jeep Liberty, a surprisingly capable and comfortable off-road SUV, is an excellent choice for people who need something more than a car crossover to haul their stuff. It has a lot going for it, including a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque, an available four-wheel drive systems, hill-descent control and hill start assist, and a standard set of air bags in both the front and rear seats. With the automatic transmission, it gets 15 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway. The 2008 Liberty has a more spacious, functional cabin than the previous model. The seats are a bit taller and the center console is larger. There is a fair amount of cargo space in the back, and the seats can be folded flat when you need to carry more.
