Description
The 2008 Mercedes-Benz S-Class combines power, elegance and technology. It's also one of the safest large sedans on the market. S-Class models include stability control, eight airbags (including side curtain airbags) and brake assist. The Airmatic suspension system, which uses four air bellows under lateral weight transfer during cornering, reduces body lean by as much as 40 percent. The 2008 Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes standard with a moonroof that features multiple panels that can slide, which provides a more spacious feel for passengers in the back seat. The COMAND system provides command and control for the radio, CD/DVD, video, address book and telephone functions, and can be used to set vehicle and equipment settings. It also has a "favorite" button that lets you assign frequently used functions. The system also features ESP, or Electronic Stability Program. This system detects whether a single wheel is oversteering or understeering, and brakes it selectively to help the vehicle handle differently. ESP has been standard on all S-Class models since the W220 model. It is an effective way to reduce the risk of a crash, especially when driving at high speeds.
