Powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is rated at 117 horsepower and 106 lb-ft of torque, the 2009 Honda Fit hits 60 mph in a scant 11.5 seconds with the automatic transmission. The Sport's automatic transmission with paddle shifters is available and improves the 0-60 time. The engine and transmission combine to provide the base Fit with fuel economy ratings of 27 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, which are quite good for this class of vehicle.
