The F-Series has been America's best-selling truck for three decades because of its solid towing and hauling abilities, respectable reliability, a plethora of customization possibilities and, with recent generations, easy-to-drive dynamics. This F-150 is a blast to drive, with surprisingly smooth and linear acceleration. The exhaust note was throaty and loud under hard acceleration, but quieted down to a pleasant hum during steady-speed cruising. The six-speed automatic transmission shifted smoothly and predictably, and the drivetrain's high gears allowed for quick starts on steep hills. For 2011, the F-150 has a number of tech features that bring it closer to the 21st century than its competitors, including a 4X4 system and a power-folding mirrors. The truck also has standard stability control, antilock brakes and a full complement of airbags. It can also be equipped with available Sync, which provides mobile office capabilities and includes an advanced navigation system.
