The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport is a fun-to-drive 7-passenger SUV that combines the power of a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with aggressive exterior styling. It offers a sporty exterior design that makes it stand out from the other modern Explorers and a gorgeous interior layout that is loaded with modern technology. The Sport version of the Explorer adds a 365-horsepower EcoBoost engine, chassis reinforcements and a sport-tuned suspension to improve handling. It also gets special terrain management settings for tackling sandy, snowy, rutted mud and hill descents. It allows less wheelspin, conservative throttle control and earlier transmission upshifts to help stabilize handling in sloppy conditions. And it scores better fuel economy than other SUVs, averaging 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.
