The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was redesigned from a body-on-frame SUV to a fresh unibody structure that improves fuel efficiency and is quicker, nimbler, and roomier than older versions. Featuring the same 3.5-liter V6 as other Nissan vehicles, the 2013 Pathfinder provides good acceleration with a continuously variable automatic transmission that's smooth and easy to use. The engine also has new friction-reduction measures that reduce wear and tear. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available with an option that automatically apportions torque to the front and rear axles as needed or can be locked into a 50/50 ratio. All Mode 4X4-i makes it easy to shift between 2WD and 4WD. The system's Auto mode sends the majority of the power to the front wheels, while 4WD Lock mode sends a small percentage of the torque to the back.
