Ford has been annihilating competitors in the light-duty truck market. Last year, F-Series sales outstripped both Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty trucks combined. So when it came time to give the 2018 F-150 a midcycle refresh, there wasn’t much doubt what the company would do. The result is a more refined, capable and luxurious truck that still delivers on its primary mission. For a full-size pickup, the F-150 is a surprisingly smooth and comfortable ride. Loaded or unloaded, its suspension soaks up most bumps and the brakes are confident and strong. Its spacious SuperCrew cabin has plenty of legroom and comfort options, including heated and ventilated front seats with lumbar adjustments. The most important upgrade comes in the form of a new Ecoboost engine, a Powerfull 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 that makes 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet and it’s mated to the same 10-speed automatic found throughout the F-150 lineup. The result is a fuel economy and power.
